We have 11 years left
We have 11 years left to prevent irreversible damage from climate change. And the only viable option is a big, bold plan that matches the scale that science and justice demand. The vast majority of voters support it this, and now it’s time for our elected officials get on board. Indivisible Berks is partnering with our allies in the Sunrise Movement to advance this agenda.
Here’s what you can do:
Ask all your elected representatives – local, county, state, federal – to sign the Green New Deal Pledge, a commitment to champion a 10-year, WWII-scale mobilization to stop climate change, achieve environmental sustainability, create millions of good jobs, and realize economic prosperity for all. The Zero Waste Act is the first of several planned bills under the Green New Deal banner. Click here for contact information for your representatives. GreenNewDealPledge.
Demand that they take the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge and reject contributions from fossil fuel executives, lobbyists and their front groups. #NoFossilFuel
Insist that our County Commissioners and the Board of Elections restore the polling place to Kutztown University, so students can exercise their right to vote. #LetKUvote
Help get out the vote! The most powerful thing you can do is talk to local voters – to make sure they understand what’s at stake right now in Berks County and go to the polls on November 5th. Sign up to canvass with Indivisible Berks and Sunrise Berks today. #GOTV
