We must prevail over the sad attributes of our present leadership.
Richard Cohen could not have said it any better in his Aug. 8 column ("America once again ruled by a mad king"). He articulated so well what so very many of us think and feel. And he is right in saying that the president of this country has revived the face of American hate, which always has been there waiting for an opportunity to come to the surface.
We have triumphed over these flaws in our national character before, and we will prevail again against hate, racism, bigotry, bullying, lies, corruption and the many other sad attributes of our present leadership.
We are a people who move forward, not backward, so let's make America great again by coming together to denounce and renounce a return to past failings. Our democracy, economic viability and standing in the world community are all at stake.
