Americans deserve to know the truth.
I realize that elections have consequences, but when one political party controls the process of confirming a judge to the Supreme Court, its integrity should be beyond reproach. There shouldn't be any questions of the nominee brazenly lying. There shouldn't be questions on whether he lied or misled the Senate under oath when he was nominated for a lifetime appointment on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Nor should there be questions on whether he is lying now on the matter of Christine Blasey Ford.
It doesn't matter when Ford's story came to light. It came out before he was confirmed, and if the allegations are true, he shouldn't be confirmed. Republicans are so eager to get Kavanaugh seated that getting to the truth is taking a back seat. It is bad enough that we have a president who repeatedly lies to the American people. Do we really want to add a dishonest judge to the Supreme Court?
Why shouldn't the FBI investigate Ford's allegations prior to a Senate hearing? Why wouldn't Kavanaugh want the same? If they don't investigate her claim or allow other witnesses to testify, then it just comes down to her word against his, and the truth will be lost. The American people deserve to know the truth. Why is the Senate so afraid to take the time to find out where the truth lies?
FBI should investigate Kavanaugh situation
