Those who don't like the president must make their voices heard.
Americans are in for a long hangover after President Donald Trump leaves office unless there's a large voter turnout in November to unseat incumbents.
The so-called party of President Ronald Reagan, with little similarity to the man, continues to enable Trump's destructive policies. In only 500 days they have mismanaged America into a predicament that will curse future generations and alienate our allies. Trump's blatant lying and vulgar behavior are enough to disgust even the most conservative of the self-proclaimed party of family values, as its leaders hypocritically look the other way.
The so-called party of fiscal responsibility and business genius upped the debt by $1.5 trillion, cut consumer protection, widened the income chasm and rewarded the top 1 percent with needless tax breaks.
The "party of environmental stewardship" is reversing advances in clean air and water by reducing the effectiveness of the Clean Water Act, rescinding auto emission standards and coal mine runoff restrictions and snubbing the Paris climate accord. This will leave future generations with huge debt and dirty air. At least they'll have a rusty southern wall.
The future is not set in stone. Americans have the power of the vote to set the country back on course. The large number of challengers is encouraging, and it includes a record number of women. Elections in November provide an exciting opportunity to vote for capable candidates. America, it's time to really make us great again.
