Writer's description of president's foes is way off-base.
Greg Shade's Sept. 19 letter ("Voters must stop left from regaining power") is one of the most despicable, hypocritical, hate-filled letters I have yet to read in your newspaper. It wasn't the left that gave a Nazi group a pass at a rally - it was President Donald Trump and few of the pure of mind who didn't say anything.
Defenders of the president should open their minds and do some fact-checking. The Washington Post Fact Checker reports that Trump has issued more than 4,000 statements of misinformation.
The president has spewed derogatory comments towards women and is an unabashed racist. Shade calls on readers to look honestly and objectively at the words and actions of people on the left. They should be looking honestly and objectively at the words and actions of Trump and Congress.
To suggest that anyone who has a negative opinion about Trump deserves comparision with Nazis and call them a "mongrel breed of pseudo-Democrats" is in itself a sign of hate.
My children and grandchildren and so many others I know fit none of the descriptions Shade used.
Letter offers infuriating take on the left
